Our Values

1.    We value people, (Luke 15) Because all people matter to God, they all should matter to us. At the center of Jesus’ ministry was His compassion for people. He was drawn to real, hurting, needy people. The Bible tells us that people who die without Jesus will be sent to hell for all eternity, separated from God’s love forever. Our job as Christians isn’t to help them get there by showing them judgment and condemnation; instead, we’re to reach out to them in meaningful ways, showing them the unconditional love of Jesus while we still have opportunity.

2.   We value authenticity, (John 17:20-23; Gal. 2:20) As Christians, an authentic and genuine faith should permeate every aspect of our personal and church life. Having an authentic and genuine faith means that we have integrity in how we relate to God, and to each other. It means that we strive each day to walk with God the way Jesus walked…in love, obedience, dependence, humility, and worship. It also means that as a unified body of believers, we relate to each other as Christ would relate to us…lovingly, openly, honestly, and forgivingly.

3.   We value grace, (John 8:1-12; Eph. 2:8-10; I Tim. 1:15-16) At Trinity, we realize that we’re not perfect, so we don’t expect others to be either! Just as Jesus accepted sinners without approving of their sin, we believe that the unconditional love, compassion, and forgiveness of God must be extended to a hurting world so that they might see firsthand through us the person of Christ in action. As followers of Christ, our desire should
be to become a walking testimony to God’s unmerited grace.

4.   We value truth, (II Tim. 3:15-17) Biblical truth is culturally relevant to our lives yesterday, today, and forever. In a day where our society teaches that "truth is in the eye of the beholder," we affirm and stand fast on God’s Word as our moral standard and guide for living.

5.   We value servanthood, (Mark 10:45; Romans 12:4-8) The Bible teaches that Jesus came "not to be served, but to serve others." At Trinity, we believe that every believer should be dedicated to ministering to others. This involves both ministering to a lost world and serving each other as a unified community. We believe that every member is a minister, and the leadership is called to lead, equip, and to mobilize the membership for service.

6.   We value commitment, (Phil 2:5-11) At Trinity, we believe that the pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause is normal for every believer. Therefore, at the heart of every Christian should be to put God first in all things. This includes being fully committed in the areas of membership, spiritual growth, maturity, ministry, missions, and glorifying God.

7.   We value excellence, (Colossians 3:17, 23-24) Excellence honors God, reflects His character, and inspires people. Valuing excellence means that we set the highest standards of quality in everything we do at Trinity. Excellence demands that we bring our very best to God in every aspect of our personal life, family life and church life.
