Our Purpose: To honor God, to reach people, and to make disciples. |
First and foremost, the Trinity Baptist Church exists primarily for the purpose of glorifying God. (Psalms 34:3; I Cor. 6:20; I Cor 10:31) Throughout the Bible we are commanded to worship and serve Him. (Mat. 4:10) Therefore, we will seek to praise, magnify, and glorify the name of the Lord in everything that we do.
Secondly, the Trinity Baptist Church exists for the purpose of "world evangelization." I believe that Jesus made this categorically clear when He told the church to "go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Thus, we will seek to glorify God (I Cor. 10:31) by fulfilling the Great Commission. (Mat 28:19-20; Mark 16:15: Luke 24:47; John 20:21; Acts 1:8)
Thirdly, the Trinity Baptist Church exists for the purpose of bringing people to Jesus and membership in His Church through baptism. (I Cor. 12:13; Mat. 28:19-20) To be identified with the body of Christ and to have fellowship with each other. (Acts 2:42; Eph. 2:19)
Fourthly, the Trinity Baptist Church exists for the purpose of maturing Gods people through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God. (II Tim 4:2) We will seek to glorify God by helping the saints to become more like Christ putting off the old man and putting on the new man. (Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:9-10)
Fifthly, the Trinity Baptist Church exists for the purpose of ministering to the needs of people. Jesus emphasized that even a cup of cold water given to one in need will not go unrecognized. (Mat. 10:42) Therefore, we will seek to glorify God by meeting the spiritual, physical, emotional and relational needs of people. (Eph. 4:12)
